Hello, fellow moms! My name is Bena, and I am a mother and wife living in New Rochelle, NY. I am originally from Nassau County, Long Island, and have lived in Washington, DC, Queens, NY, and temporarily in Madrid, Spain. When my husband and I were first looking at places to settle down in New York, we initially thought that we would be living in Queens, NY, given that our family was in Long Island, but the universe had other plans for us and brought us to New Rochelle.
New Rochelle also happened to be the city where we got married because we needed a venue that could hold 350+ people at our wedding. I know, I know…some would say that it is large and yes, I have a large family. I am of East-Indian descent (it’s also not that big of a wedding for us!). The funny thing is, looking out of our home window, we see the tall, white church steeple from where we got married. How’s that for a reminder every day?!
By profession, I am a lawyer, and I commute to the city a few times a week while working from home for the remainder of the days. My 24/7 job is being a mother to a spunky, sassy, and very chatty 2.5-year-old little girl named Asha. She is my greatest blessing in life. Watching her grow and become her own little person has really been the best experience that I could have ever asked for, and I am thankful that I was chosen to be her mommy.
When I am not being a mommy, wife, or lawyer, I am usually working out, running a million errands that never seem to end, trying out new recipes, or going out with my family on adventures. I absolutely LOVE what our area has to offer for families. Westchester is truly such a special place, and a suburban paradise, with all the parks, eateries, town activities, and hiking trails that are all in the backyard of the big NYC. I cannot wait to share more of my journey with you.
What is ONE thing you LOVE about living in Westchester?
