National Bubble Bath Day

A woman's feet in a bubble bath. January 8 is National Bubble Bath Day – a day to take some time for yourself and relax in the bath.

And I think we could all use some post-holiday pampering, don’t you? According to NationalDayCalendar.com, Americans have celebrated this day since 1999, but little is known about who created it. But do you really need an excuse to run yourself a bubble bath?

As the holidays get farther and farther into our rearview mirror and we’re headed towards the cold winter days of January, this is the perfect time for some self-care and reflection in the bath. Gather up your favorite candles, music, and maybe even a book. You can choose to use a fancy bubble bath or even America’s favorite brand, Mr. Bubble. It doesn’t matter.

What matters is that you can relax, reflect, and soak the day’s stresses away.

Of course, kids can get in on the action, too. A bubble bath can be so much fun for them. They can gather their favorite tub toys, bath bombs, and even bath-safe crayons to create a fun pre-bedtime nighttime routine. Baths are shown to help soothe kids and relax them before bed, something all families seek, right?
So, if you’re not a regular bubble bath person, today is the perfect day to try it. Make it a part of your routine, even if only once a month or so. It’s good for your body and mind as well as for your kids.
