It Takes a County: Meet Annie

A woman walking down the sidewalk holding her daughter's hand.We all agree that the term “It takes a village” is absolutely true, right? I’ve found my village in Westchester County.

Moving to Westchester five years ago gave me my village. After my now-husband, a Westchester County native, proposed and adopted my son, I moved to Eastchester, a wonderfully small town located between Scarsdale and New Rochelle.

We moved here to be close to my husband’s parents, who helped with childcare while I worked as a nurse and my husband completed his medical residency. After we got married, we had a daughter.

As a mom of a seven- and four-year-old and a transplant to Westchester, I loved the instant sense of connection with fellow moms at the playground and library story times. The more I chatted with other moms, the more I learned about all the amazing things Westchester has to offer families!

We love picking a town and spending the day there checking out the restaurants, shops, and unique parts of the town. I love discovering the “inside scoop” about the best family events, summer camps, and schools.

The sense of community, connection, and family values gives me the energy to be best the best mom, partner, and person I can be.

I can’t wait to share all of the parts of Westchester that connect us with the village, or rather, county, that we need!

What do you love most about our Westchester County village?
