New Rochelle

New Rochelle is just 17 miles from Midtown Manhattan and is home to amazing restaurants, schools, and places to have fun with the whole family. Let’s explore all the amazing parts of New Rochelle.

Indoor Fun

“New Roc City” is an entertainment and retail complex located in the heart of New Rochelle that provides loads of family fun. Check out Hour to Exit for some escape room fun, get all your energy out at SkyZone, or spend the day learning at Thomas Paine Cottage.

Outdoor Fun

New Rochelle is home to many beautiful parks. At the peak of COVID, going to these parks was our safe haven. Want to take a stroll along the water or hit the beach? Glen Island Park and Beach is a great place to stroll, run, picnic, swim, sunbathe, and have your kids get their energy out on the playground or in the grass. Five Islands Park connects the islands a bit further down Main Street. It is a perfect place to walk, run, picnic, or play in the sand. Another great spot is Davenport Park, located on Davenport Avenue. This park is especially great if you are downtown and want to walk or run by the water.

New Rochelle has some great playgrounds where your little ones can expend energy. Jack’s Friendship Garden sits right behind the only children’s library in Westchester County on North Avenue and is a fun place to have play dates after reading a good book at the library. It also sits alongside a huge duck pond so kids can watch the ducks and geese that visit.

Where To Eat

The Wooden Spoon is newly renovated and now located on North Avenue. It still provides the same comfort food in a family-friendly environment. They offer family-style dinners, amazing burgers, and a full kids’ menu to make your night out with the family spectacular and easy.

In the mood for Italian? Check out Posto 22 or Modern Restaurant. The Beechmont Tavern is also the perfect place to get those wings you’ve been craving.

Da Giorgio has been featured on the Food Network and recommended by Zagat and the New York Times for its authentic Calabrian Italian cuisine. The small and intimate space makes it a great date-night spot in Westchester.

If you are looking for a great coffee or tea spot, head downtown to R Cafe & Tea Boutique. When you walk in, you will feel like you are in an artsy section of Brooklyn with comfortable couches, folks working at distinct tables, and art for sale on the walls. It is also close to Metro North, so stop in on your way to or from the train.

If you are looking to have a drink with a friend, Aura Wine Bar on Main Street is always highly recommended by New Rochelle locals. With a cool vibe, happy hour deals, and late opening, it’s a perfect spot for a late-night get-together with a good friend.

Head to I Got The Juice on Main Street downtown for great smoothies, juices, acai bowls, and even sandwiches.
