Did you ever want to get up and escape? If you’re like most people, you’ve thought about it a time or two. Now, I’m not talking about leaving your life behind and heading for the mountains (although I’m sure that would be nice, too). But I am talking about taking some time for yourself – even if it’s only 30 minutes, and enjoying a relaxing moment.
January is the perfect time to escape from the monotony of the winter season. It’s also the start of a new year, which has its positive aspects. But sometimes, we tend to put pressure on ourselves to eat right, exercise, save money, and reinvent ourselves for the coming year.
Today is the day to stop, pause, breathe, and let everything go.
Take all the time you need to sit and be alone with your thoughts.
This is the perfect time to get cozy, put on some relaxing music, and perhaps journal about how you’d like to make positive strides in the coming year. What do you want to accomplish? How do you want to change your life for the better?
Another way to escape is to go digital-free for a day. Take a break from the phone, tablet, and TV. Settle down with a good book or magazine you’ve been putting off and dive right in. You’ll be surprised at how good you feel disconnecting for a while.
