I have a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son, and life is a bit easier when I can take them both to a class at the same time. What’s great about the classes that I’ll mention below is that if you have a typical child and a neurodivergent child, they can both participate and enjoy the activities together!
These classes are run by professionals with strong knowledge of early childhood development. Each class is unique and offers something new and exciting each week. It’s also a great way for the siblings to bond and play together in different environments throughout Westchester County.
Shake Rattle and Roll {New Rochelle & Bronxville}
You can bring your newborn and children up to six years old to make music and dance. You get a cute tote bag filled with fun instruments for the entire eight-week session. Susan, the creator of Shake, Rattle, and Roll, is engaging as she plays her guitar and original songs.
Tiny Mess Club {Fleetwood & Pleasantville}
Sensory play classes are for children from 1-5 years old. These classes are super fun and can help promote fine and gross motor skills and encourage children to explore their environment using their five senses. Each week has a different theme, and it will ignite creativity in your little ones. Your kids can make a total mess, and you don’t have to clean up a thing!
Little Talkers {Scarsdale & Chappaqua}
Run by SLPs, these classes help foster early language skills and social skills for 6-month-olds up to 36-month-olds. Each week is a different theme, with songs, books, and play time. The SLPs also share so many tips and ideas to get your little one talking. This can be a great addition if you have a little one already receiving speech therapy.
Thrive Learning Hub {Somers}
Run by a local mom and SLP, Thrive is currently offering “Perk up and Play” for 6-month-olds to 3-year-olds to play in their adorable play space while parents or caregivers can unwind. Thrive also offers a preschool experience called “Thrive Early Explorers” for 1.5-hour sessions. These classes are offered to 2.5 to five-year-olds and will not only be a great way to socialize but will be educational as well.
