Quick Trips for a Winter Break Recharge

0

Many of you will hit the road with your family for the holidays and be exhausted when it’s over. Others will host family and friends and are equally exhausted when it’s all over. Whether traveling or staying local this holiday season, a quick getaway to “recharge” can be just what the doctor ordered before the New Year!

As Westchester County parents, we have many amazing luxury hotels and resorts well-suited for a 1-2 night adults-only getaway. Here, I’ve included my current top five quick trips for a winter break recharge.

1. Gray Barns Inn {Norwalk, CT}

This is one of my favorite overnight quick escapes. There are six rooms in the Inn (I’ve stayed in three, ask me which is my favorite!). Next door, Tavern at GrayBarns restaurant is perfect for an evening meal. Then cozy up by the fire in your room and wake up to the Innkeeper bringing you complimentary breakfast. The best part is that you’ll be home before hockey practice. This one tops my list for a quick recharge.Graybarns

2. Wildflower Farms, Auberge Resorts Collection {Gardiner, NY}

Wildflower opened its doors just over one year ago and is still as popular as ever. Anyone can escape the hustle of the holidays at their delicious restaurant, cozy spa, and a nightcap by the great fire.

3. Troutbeck Inn {Amenia, NY}

It’s not hard to find peace and quiet at Troutbeck, with its lovely trails, streams, and the coziest main lodge. It also has one of the most original curated cocktail and dinner menus I’ve seen this year. This is a place you’ll want to come back again and again.

4. Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resorts Collection {Washington, CT}

Mayflower Inn & Spa may be known as an oldie but goodie, but their recent interior re-design has given many reasons to return. Hands down, this is my favorite spa experience in the Northeast. You may stay in your spa robe all weekend!

5. The Newbury Boston {Boston, MA}

Itching for more of a city escape? Hop in the car and head to Boston. The Newbury is a sexy chic hotel on the edge of Newbury Street with access to the best shopping in Boston. Don’t miss Contessa for dinner on the rooftop.
