
Fall is in the air, and we are loving the cooler weather! To get ready for all things fall, we are sharing the top nine must-do events happening around Westchester County.
1. Armonk Art Show {Armonk}
This family-friendly art show is the go-to event to check out, featuring over 160 pieces of art and providing an opportunity to explore. The family activity tent features a range of free activities for the kiddos, such as painting, puppet making, and clay. Plus, enjoy local food and drink vendors, and live music on September 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
2. Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival {Chappaqua}
It’s book season this fall, and the Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival is an awesome event for young readers. Enjoy an afternoon meeting children’s book authors and illustrators, as well as connecting with local vendors. Admission is free on September 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
3. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze {Croton-on-Hudson}
The ultimate Halloween event in Westchester, kids of all ages will love a visit to The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. Enjoy over 7,000 illuminated and hand-carved jack o’ lanterns, featuring a range of interesting and ghoulish designs. This year, families can also enjoy a range of new designs such as New York landmarks carved in pumpkins, an emerald green/ Wicked-themed pumpkin dreamscape, a stroll along the pumpkin promenade, the Headless Horseman’s Hideaway, and so much more! Get your tickets early, as this one books up quickly! Select nights from September 12 through November 16 at various times.
4. Bedford Music Festival {Bedford}
Westchester is rockin’ this fall at the Bedford Music Festival. Enjoy an afternoon of live music and family fun at Caramoor with Big Head Todd & The Monsters, as well as local bands and performers. The event also features local Westchester restaurants and offers access to the stunning grounds at Caramoor. Free tickets for kids under 15 on September 13 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
5. Fall Festival at Outhouse Orchards {North Salem}
Fall fun already started in North Salem at their annual fall festival. From now until November 2, you and your family can enjoy hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin and apple picking, treats, and more!
6. Hispanic Heritage Celebration {Rye}
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Westchester Children’s Museum. Enjoy a bilingual story time, live music, crafts, and more on September 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
7. Teatown {Ossining}
Fall is also about making the most of your time outdoors before the winter chill sets in. We love exploring Teatown and its range of fun and immersive family activities. This includes a hands-on monarch butterfly migration tracking, an afternoon building fairy houses and gnome homes, and Teatown’s Enchanted Forest, to name a few offerings.
8. JazzFest White Plains {White Plains}
Enjoy five days of music featuring 18 live performances. This includes a wide range of musical styles located throughout White Plains on September 10-14.
9. Yonkers Riverfest {Yonkers}
This one-day music festival, held on September 13 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., features three stages, where you and your family can enjoy live music, as well as local vendors, activities, a kids’ zone, and more!
