Subaru has been widely known for its safety features and quality craftsmanship for many years. They have led the way when it comes to creating a variety of family-friendly rides with raving reviews. Our family had the pleasure of test-driving the new 2023 Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition with The Premiere Collection at Subaru White Plains this weekend. This experience was a first for us, and we were looking forward to seeing all the Subaru has to offer.
From the moment we entered the dealership, we were greeted by friendly staff members who were genuinely happy to share their knowledge about Subaru and the new Ascent that had just arrived at the dealership that day. I was given a tour of the vehicle and shown how to operate the latest technology available in the Ascent. Several features, in particular, stood out to me that were aesthetically pleasing and incredibly functional.
The new 2023 Ascent is Subaru’s biggest SUV. It boasts up to eight roomy passenger seats with captain’s chairs, which is a huge bonus for a family with small children! The spacious aisle allows ample storage and belongings to travel with you without cramming your items into the car. The trunk space is also incredibly roomy, so you won’t have to worry about fitting in a stroller or all your game day chairs. In addition, the new Ascent offers some other features that take safety and style to the next level.
Enhanced EyeSight Driver Assist Technology
Subaru’s newest EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is coupled with DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System. These safety features help ensure that the driver stays focused on the road. If your eyes veer off the road, the car will remind you to focus. This is a great feature to prevent texting while driving. The Ascent will also beep when the vehicle is too close to either the right or left lane. This helps keep everyone safe and can save someone who is falling asleep while driving. The facial recognition system is also used to detect who is driving the vehicle and will adjust to their personal features upon turning on the car.
Top-Notch Technology
The Ascent also comes equipped with a high-resolution 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™ integration3 making it easy to entertain all three rows of your family. One of my favorite features is the wireless charging station located beneath the touchscreen display.
Panoramic Moonroof
Bring in more fresh air and sunshine with your 54-inch power tilt/sliding panoramic moonroof. The moonroof was one of my kids’ favorite features. They loved how it made the car more open and bright.
Onyx Edition Black Rims and StarTex Upholstery
Standard 20-inch alloy wheels with a black finish showcase both the style and capability of the Ascent Onyx Editions. The black alloy wheels are sleek and elevate the exterior design of this vehicle. The StarTex upholstery is trimmed with green contrast stitching, creating the look and feel of riding in luxury.
Despite the rain, we truly enjoyed cruising around in the 2023 Subaru Ascent. As a busy working mom, this vehicle made me not only feel comfortable and safe, but it accommodated everything that comes along with a family of five.
