Another school year is coming to a close, and that means one thing: Summer is almost here!
The summer after my first child was born, I made our inaugural family bucket list — a number of things I wished to do before the end of that summer as a new mom with a new baby — and since then, I’ve continued with several more. I aspired to create memories with my growing family, explore our local regions, and savor the seasons and holidays together.

Having a summer bucket list is an easy way to stay intentional and make the most of your family’s time during what often feels like the shortest season. It helps to encourage creativity, add excitement, and avoid boredom while accomplishing fun goals together before school inevitably starts up again.
There’s no shortage of summer bucket lists available to print at home. I used a free printable template, and there are also options for pre-filled checklists. Of course, you can quickly write your ideas on any piece of paper or type them into your phone’s notes as well, whichever method is most convenient.
It’s been quite a while since I made a summer bucket list, so I’m keeping it simple with a few outdoor adventures, exploration and learning opportunities, water activities, and some foodie fun.
