Just Say Yes: Enter the Wolficorn

What I hope for all women is that they find their pack.

Whether it’s a group of relatives, friends from high school or college, women from your community, connections through work, or simply a bestie—however it comes together, that circle of trust is priceless.

Enter the Wolficorn.

If you’re not familiar, a Wolficorn is a symbol of women who are both fiercely independent and deeply connected. Like the wolf, they draw strength from their pack. Like the unicorn, they embrace individuality, creativity, and a little bit of magic.

I’m forever grateful I said YES to one event years ago—a party bus to celebrate a friend’s birthday in New Haven, Connecticut.

Originally, I was absolutely not going.

It was a Saturday. All four kids had sports and activities going in different directions. I had carpools I couldn’t bail on, meals to figure out, and the guaranteed traffic on the Hutch and Merritt both ways. No, thank you.

But I loved the birthday girl. I loved the women on the RSVP list. And something told me…this might be kind of epic.

So, in a rare move, I found coverage for the day—and went.

When I arrived in New Haven, the morning started with hugs and hellos—friends old and new. There were gifts, laughter, and an incredible brunch featuring a mimosa bar and bacon-and-shrimp Bloody Marys (so, already an epic Saturday).

Then the party bus arrived—and we were all fired up!

And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, the birthday girl appeared—in a full unicorn costume—roller skating (old-school, four wheels) around the driveway like she was taking a pre-game victory lap before even boarding the bus.

Without knowing it, she was setting the tone for the entire day.

We set off to vineyards in southern Connecticut—each one amazing, beautiful, and highly recommended—and somewhere between the music, the wine, the laughter, and the shared stories…something magical happened.

We were becoming Wolficorns.

It was that kind of day.

That day brought together incredible women—some I’ve known most of my life, others I just met. We connected in that girl-power way. We sang, we danced, we talked, we confided, we laughed.

The laughter—that was the magic.

Some of the women from that day have become some of my closest confidants. And it didn’t stop there.

We’ve had many more gatherings since that bus ride. One of the most memorable was when my two daughters joined me on a trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Getting to hang with them among these incredible women, being inspired, supported, and empowered, was truly priceless.

So much laughter. So much connection. So much support.

Grateful for all of it.

I don’t get to see these women as often as I’d like. Most live near each other in southern Connecticut, while I’m in Westchester—always factoring in that Hutch/Merritt traffic. They plan far more events than I can attend. And, I love that.

The steady support system—sharing advice, information, funny videos, and constant encouragement—has meant everything as we navigate what life throws our way.

Looking back, I never would have had so many meaningful experiences—or built these relationships—if I hadn’t stepped onto that party bus in New Haven.

As moms—and busy women in general—carving out time like this isn’t always possible. There are schedules, commitments, games, and events that can’t be missed. But if you can swing it—even just once—for something that might be a little epic, a little unexpected, and a little magical…Just say yes.

You never know—it might just lead you to your pack.

  1. Fantastic! The first I’ve heard of them referred to as Wolficorns, but I love it! The harder it is to say “yes” sometimes, the more important it seems to do so. Great reminder!!

  2. This is a beautiful reminder that the right “yes” can change everything. The Wolficorn pack is magic, and so are you. 🐺✨🦄💕
