Hi, I’m Jess, a mom of two, lover of a good road trip, and someone who somehow made a career out of being really good at planning fun things to do with kids.
I live in southern Westchester with my husband, our two kids, and two rescue bunnies who, much to my delight and slight regret, live range-free in our house.
We moved from the Upper West Side to Westchester in 2014, and it felt like home from the moment we pulled into the neighborhood. My husband grew up in the area, and our kids now go to the same elementary school he once did.
As someone who moved around constantly growing up, there’s something really grounding about raising my family in a place where we feel such a sense of community.
After becoming a parent, I realized how overwhelming it can be to find fun things to do with kids without spending hours researching.
Sometimes all you need is a fenced-in playground. Other times, you want to eat dinner in the oldest restaurant in the state or find a hotel with an indoor waterslide and arcade.
I’m a planner by nature, and I started by sharing the kinds of experiences I was always searching for… unique, worthwhile, and surprisingly doable.
That’s how Travel Like Jess began. And over the years, I’ve come back to a few guiding thoughts on family travel:
- You don’t need a long trip to make a big memory.
- There’s always something new to discover… especially close to home.
- Raising adventurous kids starts with the energy you bring, not the distance you travel.
I joined Westchester County Mom to connect with other parents who get that. If one of my posts makes your weekend a little more fun or helps you try something new with your kids, that’s exactly why I’m here.
