Marisa Löwenstein from The Conscious Creativity Lab will join Slip Studio for a guided meditation using sgraffito as a mindfulness practice. We will combine two experiences: Marisa's meditative drawing workshop and the ancient technique of sgrafitto (a decorative technique of scratching through leather-hard clay to reveal layers, contrasts, and design).

This hands-on class introduces students to nerikomi, a decorative hand-building technique that uses layered, patterned colored clay. Students will learn how to build and slice patterned clay blocks and apply them to a simple slab-built form, resulting in a one-of-a-kind functional piece.
