DESCRIPTION:Marc Ciprut is a guitarist/songwriter/producer from New York. His music is influenced by the many different musicians he grew up listening to. Everyone from Jimi Hendrix\, Wes Montgomery\, George Benson\, and Grant Green to Stevie Wonder\, The Beatles\, Led Zeppelin\, and Donny Hathaway. His music reflects these influences in his own unique way. In recent years he has turned his attention to writing and producing music for himself as well as various other artists. \nHis album “Blue House”\, which was released in 2023\, drew rave reviews from critics and musicians alike. \n“Marc Ciprut’s style is perfectly recognizable\, producing a pleasant\, rich\, and surprising album here\, never allowing the listener to escape”. Thierry De Clement (Bayou Blue News) \nHis next release\, “Moonshine\,” which was released in 2024\, is another example of his unique abilities as a guitarist\, songwriter\, and producer. Whether you are looking for some down-and-dirty blues or some slick\, funky grooves\, Moonshine delivers on all fronts. \nHis latest release is titled “Discovery.” It includes music by Jimi Hendrix\, Led Zeppelin\, Stevie Wonder\, Marvin Gaye\, Etta James\, and Elton John. \nCiprut calls it\, “A celebration of the songs and artists who have inspired me throughout my musical journey. These arrangements pay homage to the masters they were and are.”

SUMMARY:34th Annual Swim Across America
DESCRIPTION:Swim Across America – Long Island Sound in Westchester County\, New York\, will celebrate its 34th annual open water swim on Saturday\, July 25\, 2026\, in Larchmont\, New York. \nThe event brings together nearly 1\,000 swimmers\, volunteers\, Olympians\, spectators\, and supporters each year to raise funds for cancer research\, care\, and patient support services in the New York City area. Since its first swim in Westchester County in 1992\, Swim Across America – Long Island Sound has raised more than $32 million for its local beneficiaries\, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center\, Columbia University Medical Center\, Weill Cornell Medicine\, and Cancer Support Team. \nFollowing a record-breaking fundraising year\, the 2026 open water swim will be held on July 25\, along with eight additional community pool swims from June 26 through August 1. All events support the organization’s mission to Make Waves to Fight Cancer. Swimmers\, land and water volunteers (boaters\, kayakers\, paddle boarders) interested in participating in either the July 25 open water swim or any of the pool swims can register at http://www.swimacrossamerica.org/longislandsound.nn \nThe July 25 Swim Across America – Long Island Sound open-water swim is a point-to-point swim that begins at the Larchmont Yacht Club\, 1 Woodbine Ave.\, in Larchmont\, New York\, and finishes at Larchmont Shore Club\, 1 Oak Bluff Ave.\, in Larchmont. Swimmers can choose 2K\, 5K\, and 10K distances. \nThe 10K swimmers swim across Long Island Sound starting from Glen Cove\, New York\, to the Larchmont Shore Club. The minimum fundraising requirement is $500 for 2K and 5K swimmers\, and $5\,000 for 10K swimmers.
